💬 From Anthony Rubio
“This is my favorite time of the year. The Met Gala designers get months to create their looks — I get just two weeks to translate them for dogs. Fashion Week is my vision, but The Pet Gala is a challenge in adaptation. The dogs' comfort and safety always come first. It pushes me to be more creative, and I absolutely thrive on it.”

A full runway show of the stars with commentary by designer Anthony Rubio.

From Anthony Rubio:
This is my favorite time of the year. I love to challenge myself. The designers for The Met Gala have months to create their looks for celebrities to shine on the red carpet. I have two weeks to recreate them and for dogs. When I design for my Fashion Week runway shows, it's all my aesthetic. For The Pet Gala, I have to figure out how to translate garments worn by humans onto our four-legged stars. Humans can suffer for their fashion, but dogs will not. Their comfort and safety is my top priority. It's a challenge I'm always up for. I thrive under the pressure.

The featured look in the invite above is a recreation by Anthony Rubio of Alexander McQueen butterfly dress first worn by actress Elizabeth Banks in the film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Just as in the case of the original, with an embellished carapace of artificial butterflies made of feathers, this hourglass-shaped dress relies on minimal seaming and is wholly free of boning.
